Gender Bias
This refers to representing males and females based on stereotypes rather than real differences or similarities.
It is possible to distinguish between Alpha bias and beta bias.
Alpha bias refers to theories which exaggerate the differences between males and females (for example evolutionary theory) whereas beta bias refers to a tendency to assume that what is true for males is also true for females. Beta bias is therefore ignoring or minimising Gender differences.
